Machines that outperform manual inspections in the mining industry. Yes, this is already possible thanks to the incorporation of new technologies in the market, aimed at expanding the efficiency and safety of operations. Through Deeptrack, a solution developed by Pix Force in partnership with Eneva, drones equipped with infrared and RGB sensors are able to identify overheating in conveyor belts responsible for input logistics, offering fundamental data for maintenance teams. Pix Force's technology is capable of identifying the individual temperature and the georeferenced location of each roller on the conveyor belts, reducing the need for manual inspections that pose a high risk to the lives and health of workers. Through reports that can be analyzed later in a safe location, the solution enables the adoption of predictive and preventive maintenance in the transport of inputs, preventing the overheating of rollers that can cause fires and unexpected downtime in operations. Among the advantages of Deeptrack is the ease of operating the drones, which can be handled without the need to hire specialized teams. The technology also enables the generation of historical reports on the performance of each roller, allowing detailed analysis of specific sections. Another advantage of adopting drones is linked to their ability to outperform the monitoring work carried out by sensors, which need to be inserted individually on each of the rollers, in addition to demanding a larger number of technicians to perform the inspections. Drones - unmanned aerial vehicles are considered more versatile than manned helicopters and airplanes, in addition to having an expressively lower operational cost. Due to their ability to provide information quickly, they have become indispensable for mining companies that want to increase their competitive capacity in the market. In the case of Deeptrack, in addition to better cost-benefit, the drones used can be piloted with the help of a fully customized flight application focused on practicality. Missions are carried out autonomously through a single button, and in the event of a technical failure or obstacle, the aircraft returns to the starting point automatically.

Sector grows thanks to the incorporation of new technologies

Fundamental to the sector's growth, the incorporation of new technologies has made the mining industry more competitive, with the possibility of operating in safer and more controlled environments. The application of solutions like Deeptrack contributes to opening up new possibilities, as logistical problems can be responsible for inestimable financial losses. According to data from the Brazilian Mining Association (IBRAM), in the first half of 2021, the mineral sector showed a 98% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2020, reaching the level of R$149 billion. The growth is also a reflection of the incorporation of disruptive solutions into the market, which has become increasingly competitive. Also according to data released by IBRAM, the Brazilian mineral sector is expected to receive investments of US$ 41.36 billion by 2025. Mining activity has been undergoing changes over time, with innovation as a fundamental aspect of its growth. Through the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), managers have critical data at hand for decision-making, in addition to removing workers from risky activities in hostile environments. Manual inspection of transport carried out by conveyor belts, for example, is considered inefficient and unfeasible due to different factors, and can be performed more effectively and cheaply using drones. Despite being traditional, the sector has included new technologies as a strategy to redesign old ways of working. Drones equipped with cameras that surpass human vision are an example of the application of computer vision in mining, enabling the capture and analysis of images and videos in an advanced and low-cost way. The process, which was once known as expensive and difficult to access, has been gaining space in the market and establishing itself as a completely viable solution.
