AI Surveillance: improve safety in industrial environments with Safety.

AI Surveillance: improve safety in industrial environments with Safety.

Speak with a specialist

Created by the Rio Grande do Sul startup Pix Force, Pix University is a campaign that seeks to bring themes related to Computer Vision to the public in a simple and educational way. The goal is to make the subject popular and generate knowledge for managers and directors in the industrial sector. Image: Discover Pix University

Starting in February, Pix Force kicks off Pix University, a campaign built so that not only industry leaders can acquire knowledge about Computer Vision, but also people from outside the corporate world. Considered one of the branches of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that most optimizes processes within the industrial environment, the technology has been gaining ground with numerous solutions in the market. The project's objective is to pass on knowledge regarding the subject in a clear and efficient manner. Want to know more about Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence? Check out other Pix University articles here. To kick off the project, the theme of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision will be covered, which can be checked here. The theme was developed with the help of technician Lucas Ramalho, image processing analyst at the startup. Lucas will also support the development of other topics, such as "Image Acquisition: drones, mobiles, and fixed cameras" and "What types of data can we receive from these sensors?", which refers to the devices in the previous topic. Still on images, Lucas will coordinate the production of materials on the creation of applied Computer Vision systems, with application examples. Theresa Rocco, GIS Remote Sensing Analyst at Pix Force, will lead the topic "Image Acquisition: satellites, recurrence, RGB vs SAR, resolution, applied AI, constellations, and the future of these images (nanosatellites)". Continuing the project, the topics "Neural Network: how does it work? Segmentation, detection, YOLO, and much more" and "Neural Network: dataset and training" will be coordinated by Luis Felipe Zeni, Deep Learning Engineer at Pix Force, responsible for strong software engineering skills. Finally, Heitor Tosetto, CEO of the vertical Pix Grid, will work on decisions regarding cost, functionality, and reliability of using systems with Computer Vision. In addition, Pix Force founders Renato Gomes and Daniel Moura will take charge of bringing information about Computer Vision as a whole, covering the history of its creation, common applications in industry, and development of day-to-day solutions. Market Competitiveness

Computer Vision solutions bring greater efficiency to industrial processes, making them more agile and reliable. In this way, companies that adopt this technology tend to scale quickly and exponentially, which fosters competitiveness in various sectors, including the most traditional ones. In 2021, Pix Force was featured for the fourth consecutive time in the 100 Open Startups ranking, a platform responsible for connecting large companies with startups that offer innovative solutions to market pain points. This indicates that offering process optimization through innovation and disruptive technologies is an efficient way to make companies grow, making better use of their workforce and achieving greater efficacy in their results.

Examples of solutions developed by Pix Force

Pix Counter is a technology created to optimize industrial processes that are usually slow and ineffective. The solution can count countless items on a production line or transport load, as is the case with steel bar bundles. In less than a minute, the device operates generating results above 98% accuracy. Equipped with sensors and RGB cameras, it helps synchronize a production chain's process, and can also be used in traceability control, locating possible failures and ensuring product quality. Another example of a solution that brings agility, precision, and safety is Deeptrack, a technology that operates within the mining industry. Introducing drones in conveyor belt inspections, Deeptrack also uses RGB cameras and infrared sensors, responsible for indicating individual temperatures and georeferenced location of each roller that makes up conveyor belts, preventing overheating and consequent stops in operations.
